Anti-procrastination Tuesday Love Getting Things Done

7393129504_TCNCj

Last week, I had a very simple, short To-Do list.  I quickly realized how many things were not on that list.  Keeping a tally of the missing items isn’t easy and I keep not having a note pad handy.  I like to have a note pad around all the time so I can write down the things that come to mind.

I wanted to get this blog update done yesterday, so this is my first procrastination item.  Since I am doing it now, I get to check it off the list.  My list should be longer, I’m sure, but I’m not remembering what I’m leaving off.

to do list

With this said, I have gotten quite a bit done.  If you read my previous post, you know we had a very productive weekend.  Productivity spurs productivity so we are all trying to keep up the momentum.  My daughter even got the bug, moved the book shelf in the rec room and painted.  This has needed to be done for a couple of years now.  She even put the shelf back when the paint dried.

Another note about getting things done- why is it when the husband decides to do something, he just does the one thing, yet when the wife sets out to do something, there are about twenty action items that need to be done first?  We’ve all heard the story of the man and woman going to bed.  He goes upstairs.  She heads to put something away in the kitchen, which leads to another thing and before she knows it, thirty minutes (or more) has passed.  I needed to go to work yesterday.  I thought I would leave when my husband left.  It took me an hour and a half to finally get in my car.

previous to-do

You can see from last week’s list, the entry way table still needs to be done, as well as the menu/recipe book.  Getting the boat ready is getting done today and the reservations have been made.   Unfortunately, I did procrastinate a little long on that and I could only get one night confirmed.  The second night in Friday Harbor will be first come, first served.  This is a great example of why working on not procrastinating is so important to me.

Happy Home Making.   Beth

I would need a list to remind me to make lists. It does feel good to cross things off though doesn't it.

I have the same problem too. When my husband cleans the house, it takes him maybe an hour at the most....but when I clean, it takes me days!
