To-Do List Update

I should have known there was a link party for menu planning.  Several blogs I have read have had some great menu plans and menu planning posts but I didn’t save a list of which ones.  Now I don’t need to save the list because Laura at I’m an Organizing Junkie has a nice collection of a bunch of blog posts just about menu planning.  It’s called Menu Planning Monday.  Don’t know if I’ll be so organized as to participate one of these weeks, but I’m definitely checking in with these bloggers.

Since the kids are gone this week, I’m using this time to organize my recipes and my pantry.  I have really only been in charge of the cooking for just about two years now.  My husband was doing most of the meal planning and cooking until then.  It has taken me this long to get my systems in place and figure out what recipes I like, which ones the family likes and what I can cook in a hurry.  I wish I had discovered meal planning right from the start.  Beth.

Hi Beth,
Just dropping by to say thanks for the sweet comment about Heart and Home, so glad you enjoy Wednesday Gratitude, I'd love for you to link up sometime!
My mom always planned the weekly meals, she was very efficient that way, but I've never gotten the hang of it. I cook what I'm in the mood for, and the rest of the family hasn't ever complained, so I guess I've been lucky! Good luck with the new system.

I used to plan meals each week before shopping and shop at two or three stores. Having a menu plan makes things so much easier even with just the two of us. I am using e-mealz right now. I don't use all of the meals on the menu but it does help me get organized.
