Between Naps on The Porch blogger, Susan, hosts a table setting theme event each Thursday. I finally got enough time to put my table together in honor of Independence Day.
A quick flower and flag arrangement in my milk glass vase. My mother gave me the beautiful, unmarked, teapot. I use my trio of Jamestown picture shot glasses for tea light candle holders. The look of weathered metal in the tin molds seems like Americana to me.
A splash of red in the middle to tie it all together. A friend gave me the blue tea towel in the corner.
I have had this china set since I was newly married, 18 years ago. I have been completely captivated by it ever since. One time I found the coffee service to match but it was on a trip to Fairbanks, Alaska and it was unthinkable for me to spend the money on shipping, let alone the cost of the service. Wow! How I wish I had spent the $80. I will find it again I think.
We left the house and someone didn’t see the cat escape the downstairs! The Big Fuzz is fairly new to us and came with some bad manners, namely getting into the highest spot possible. Apparently he is very patriotic. Back downstairs, Big Fuzz.

Your table is beautiful. I love the china and the teapot!
I loved my cat "Scratches" but when I see photo's like that...it makes me remember and that is the part I don't miss. But then again..he was worth everything..even sleeping in the middle of the dining room dishes. :)
How cute! No...really...how cute!
Such a pretty table setting and he just tops it off!
LOL! We have a cat who also loves to lounge on the table when we're not looking. I can see why you love those dishes -- such a pretty pattern! I hope you do find that coffee service set to match again!
Such pretty china! I know that feeling of regret. I hope you find the set again. Happy 4th!
We had a cat that looked just like yours. Her name was Suzy and she would have done the same thing. It's not that he has bad manner,s it's just that he enjoys beauty. She tries to surround himself with it.
Oh, I'm glad we are not the only ones with a table cat!!!
Your table is so pretty and patriotic. The kitty has a GREAT vantage point of your tablescape. We have one cat who has decided that the table is his. But he lets us borrow it when we are entertaining!
Love your table. The cat is such a special touch. My cat is always trying to get into my pics.
