To end the Summer properly, we like to go to the beach for a few days. We discovered Gearhart last year and thoroughly enjoy the relaxing, entertaining time we spend there. Mostly, we go to the beach and lay around or play in the surf. The weather was great this year, although the beach was a bit windy so we ended up not staying too long each day. We did end up visiting a lot of historical areas, including Fort Stevens, Fort Clatsop and the Astoria Column. We also got to see all the classic hotrods in Seaside at the Wheels and Waves show. This trip is way too much fun and makes it really hard to get back to the daily grind. I think the kids even had a great time. When they have this kind of trip to look forward to all Summer, it's no wonder the beginning of Summer starts off with complaints of Nothing To Do!
