Non-traditional Boutonnières and Corsages

I am linking today’s post with Kaysi at Keeping It Simple, for Motivate Me Monday,

There are so many things to make for a wedding.  Of course we can buy so much of what we opted to make ourselves, but crafting is just too much fun.  Making flower corsages and boutonnieres would have been fun enough but we couldn’t leave it at ordinary.

Boutonnieres and corsages are quite non-traditional these days.

These boutonnieres and corsages were just the personal touch we wanted for my daughter’s vintage-romantic theme.

While the guys’ boutonnieres were mainly just the peacock feathers, the women all had different brooches.  Our first thought was to find antique brooches but when we saw what was available at the craft store, we opted for these pendants.

We used pieces of trim I already had in my stash of supplies, and these pins I also had left over from another project.  Some of the brooches we didn’t add elements since they were perfect on their own.

I decided brooch needed to be in my hair.  A non-traditional place for a non-traditional corsage.
